What FRAT is

FRAT, the Folate Receptor Autoantibody Test, IgG variant, is a simple blood test that detects autoantibodies that block folate from reaching the brain. When folate can't cross into the brain, neurological development is impacted, a condition called Cerebral Folate Deficiency. It's linked to autism, developmental delays, and neurological symptoms. It's identifiable and often treatable.

Why it matters first

The fastest, lowest-commitment first step.

FRAT is one important marker, not a full diagnosis. It's often the fastest, lowest-commitment first step, a single test that can point toward a treatable biological cause before committing to the complete Autism Decoder Panel.

One blood draw.

Results in weeks, not a waitlist

Where it fits

FRAT can be booked entirely on its own, as a first step for a family that wants a fast, focused answer. It can also be booked as part of the full Autism Decoder Panel, where it sits within Folate Transport and Brain Development.
